Road America confirmed for 2004

LANSING, Mich. (Feb. 5, 2004) -- The Motorock Trans-Am Tour will continue one of its longest traditions the weekend of Aug. 5-8, during the Grand Prix of Road America. The Trans-Am Tour will compete at the 4.048-mile road course in Elkhart Lake, Wis., along with the Champ Car World Series.

Road America has hosted 35 consecutive Trans-Am events since the inaugural in 1970, the most of any venue, active or inactive, on which the Trans-Am Tour has competed.

"The Trans-Am Tour and Road America have one of the longest relationships in auto racing," said Trans-Am Tour Executive Director John Clagett. "We're pleased to return this year, and carry on a tradition more than 30 years in the making. Road America, the longest road course on the Trans-Am Tour, poses a unique challenge to our competitors. We're expecting an exciting and competitive race in August."

The Motorock Trans-Am Tour features closed-fendered, production-based, V-8-powered sports cars, competing on permanent road courses, and temporary street and airport circuits throughout North America. The Trans-Am Tour is America's oldest continuously running road racing series and celebrates its 39th anniversary in 2004.

Motorock is the creation of a popular culture brand that blends the enthusiast markets of cars, stars and guitars. It is a yearly series of destination live events that showcases the excitement of motorsports, music and lifestyle while delivering a unique new form of broadcast entertainment programming.
