PAUL FIX WINS SECOND CONSECUTIVE GT-1 TRANS-AM HONOR
TORONTO, Ontario (July 9, 2005) -- Paul Fix won the GT-1 Class portion of the Trans-Am in T.O. race Saturday at the Molson Indy Toronto. Fix, in the No. 77 Stop Flex/Computer Systems Centre/Pennzoil Ford Mustang, drove from ninth to finish an overall sixth, and first in the GT-1 Class, which featured a season high five competitors.
Fix won the GT-1 Class at Cleveland and now sits just five points behind GT-1 Class leader Moneca Kolvyn (No. 08 West Coast Hot Rods Chevrolet Monte Carlo).
"We knew what we wanted to do from the beginning of the weekend--we wanted to win the GT-1 Class and get a good finish overall," said Fix. "This was a great weekend and Toronto is a great city. We always love coming here. It was just a great weekend, altogether."
Fix also earned the VP Hard Charger Award in the GT-1 Class for advancing the most position in class.
