Darland Dominates "4-Crown" Midget Feature East Extends Point Lead With 2nd-Place Finish

Dave Darland of Lincoln, Ind. led all 25 laps of Saturday night's "4-Crown Nationals" USAC National Midget Car feature at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. He built nearly a half-lap lead in the Keith Kunz Motorsports/Fontana Automotive/Valvoline Bullet/Fontana, then pulled away on the final restart to post the victory.

Series point leader Bobby East continues to enjoy a sizeable lead in the standings going into season finales at Tucson, Ariz. and Irwindale, Calif. Nov. 20 and 25. East finished second in Saturday night's race ahead of Matt Westfall, Tony Elliott and Davey Ray.

East's lead over series runner-up Josh Wise stands at a comfortable 336 points after Wise failed to finish at Eldora.

The Nov. 20 race at Tucson Raceway Park is the "Old Pueblo Classic," while the Nov. 25 Irwindale Speedway finale is the annual "Turkey Night Grand Prix."
