CAROLINA/VIRGINIA FOCUSES HEAD TO HUDSON
After two races at South Boston (Va.) Speedway this season, the USAC Carolina/Virginia Ford Focus Midget Car Series heads Friday to Hudson, N.C. for a 25-lap showdown at Tri-County Motor Speedway.
A rookie heads the list of Carolina/Virginia drivers heading to the 4/10-mile track. Nick Wean of Milford, N.J., in his first season in the Ford Focus Midgets, leads the points by 20 over defending series champion Chase Scott of Concord, N.C. and Brit Andersen of Branford, Conn. Wean was second at the last race at South Boston.
Scott, the series all-time win leader with 10, looks to regain the point lead since losing the advantage for the first time since last March. Eight of the top 10 drivers in points are currently searching for their first series victories, including current seventh-place ranking driver Robbie Ray of Davenport, Iowa, the 2003 Midwest Ford Focus Midget titlist.
