Wednesday night's USAC racing program at the Anderson (Ind.) Speedway showcases three different racing series on the World's Fastest Quarter-Mile Track. The program is presented by the Richard Petty Driving Experience.
The USAC Regional Midgets, Kenyon Midgets and Midwest/Indiana Ford Focus Midgets compete in what race organizer Don Kenyon calls the "Wednesday Open Wheel Racing Extravaganza." The Wednesday night programs continue this year at Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind, Plymouth (Ind.) Speedway and Illiana Motor Speedway in Schererville, Ind.
Series champions from 2007 are James Robertson of Indianapolis, Ind. (Regional Midgets & Midwest Focus), Chett Gehrke of Broken Arrow, Okla. (Indiana Focus) and Kyle Hamilton of Danvile, Ind. A 30-lap feature is on tap for each series Wednesday.
Caleb Armstrong of New Castle, Ind. captured the 2008 Kenyon Midget opener April 6 at Anderson, but Jeff Wimmenauer of New Whiteland, Ind. finds himself atop the series standings as a result of qualifying, heat and feature points earned in April.
