KAHNE TEAM EYES "TOYOTA CHALLENGE" TITLE AS MIDGETS INVADE O.R.P. SATURDAY
The Kasey Kahne Racing Team, led by drivers Kevin Swindell and Brady Bacon, have their sights set on the $15,000 bonus Yoyota has posted for the winning team in the 2007 "Toyota Challenge" as the USAC National Midget Series heads for O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis, Ind. This Saturday's 2nd Annual "Toyota USAC Racing Classic," which also features the Lucas Oil USAC National Sprint Cars, concludes this year's $25,000 "Toyota Challenge" which rewards teams scoring the most USAC points in three selected races.
Swindell won the last 'Toyota Challenge" event, at O.R.P. May 26, putting Kahne team cars in the top two spots in the "Toyota Challenge" standings entering Saturday night's racing program. Other teams currently in the "top-five" are Wilke-Pak Racers, Nine Racing and Tony Stewart Racing. The defending champion is Keith Kunz Motorsports of Columbus, Ind., currently sixth in the 2007 standings.
Darren Hagen, who competes for the Kunz team, is the current USAC National Midget point leader, five ahead of Jerry Coons Jr. going into the ORP race.
