WESTERN MIDGETS HEADLINE "TRIPLEHEADER" AT VENTURA SATURDAY; HANSEN EXTENDS LEAD WITH KINGS VICTORY

The USAC Western Midget Series headlines a USAC "tripleheader" at the Ventura (Calif.) Raceway Saturday night. The USAC California Dirt Ford Focuses and Junior Focuses share billing on the one-fifth mile dirt oval.

USAC Western Midget Series point leader Garrett Hansen of Manhattan Beach, Calif. sped to victory in Saturday night's 30-lap race at Kings Speedway in Hanford, Calif., leading all but the first three laps in his Andy Bondio entry.

Ventura's Cory Kruseman took second ahead of Blake Miller, Robby Flock and Justin Grant. Lady driver Shannon McQueen was the fastest qualifier for the USAC/BCRA co-sanctioned race, while lady driver Randi Pankratz led the first three laps of the main event.

Hansen's lead over Kody Swanson stands at 133 points going into Saturday's Ventura program. Hansen finished fourth behind winner Matt Mitchell in the April 11 USAC Midget race at Ventura.
