BARRIER ON SECOND ROW
Good qualifying session for Sylvain Barrier, who will start from the second row tomorrow with the 6th position. It was a little bit more difficult for Gregg Black, but there is still a lot of hope for the race tomorrow.
Xavier Simeon (Ducati) was the fastest in front of Maxime Berger (Honda). Claudio Corti (Suzuki) was 7th, just behind Sylvain.
Sylvain Barrier: "I was careful in the beginning of the session, with a correct lap time in case it would rain. Then we checked our settings. My front wheel was bouncing a little but we fixed the problem. 10 minutes from the end, I put a new rear tyre on. I had a clear lap and I went 0.8 faster. I didn't have a good feeling with my rear wheel when I was braking. In the last 2 laps, I missed my braking 2 times, otherwise I think I could have been a little bit faster. I am happy."
Michel Garnier (team owner): "It is not too bad. There was a problem with the front of Sylvain's bike, and we solved it. We played it safe. For our team, a position on the second row is good. I am happy with this result. It was not easy for Gregg but he stayed on his wheels. He is progressing. He usually starts well, so we shouldn't worry. He is learning."
