Duhamel stops the Mladin machine at Sears Point

Miguel Duhamel has been around the paddock for a long time, and this is not by mistake. Miguel is an old fox and can never be counted out. The Canadian won his first AMA SBK race of the year. And like Daytona, his teammate Jake Zemke paid the price.

Just like the SuperStock race, the second AMA SBK race of the Sears Point double header, was stopped due to a red flag.

After leading the first half of the race, Jake Zemke sat in the front of the readjusted grid. On the restart, Aaron took the hole shot to lead the race. The surprise of the day must have been how badly Mladin rode. Perhaps he had mechanical problems, perhaps tire problems, but definitely this was not the Mladin we are used to. He rode to a conservative fourth place and only lost a few points from his championship lead.

Today was not to be Zemke's race and Duhamel was the messenger. On the last turn of the last lap, Duhamel out-braked Zemke. Zemke tried to fight back by straightening up the bike, but Duhamel won the drag race to the flag.
