LONG POND, Pennsylvania (July 31, 2009)-- Friday's ARCA RE/MAX Series Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell at Pocono Raceway, scheduled for 1:45 p.m., has been cancelled. The starting grid for Saturday's Pennsylvania 200 ARCA RE/MAX Series race will be set based on current car owner points. Eddie Sharp Racing's Justin Lofton (No. 6 Lofton Cattle Toyota) will start on the pole alongside Cunningham Motorsports' Parker Kligerman (No. 77 Cunningham Motorsports Dodge).
ARCA RE/MAX Series race teams were able to practice at the 2.5-mile triangle early on Friday before heavy rain washed away any hope for afternoon on-track activity. ARCA RE/MAX Series drivers will still participate in an autograph session in the Bacardi Bistro, located along the main tunnel access road in the Pocono Raceway Infield, on Friday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. The ARCA Garage area will close Friday at 4 p.m., however, Saturday's schedule has not been altered.
The Pennsylvania 200, race 13 of the 21-event ARCA RE/MAX Series, is scheduled to roll off at 1 p.m. on Saturday live on SPEED. Check www.arcaracing.com for live timing and scoring and audio coverage of the race, which marks ARCA's 50th appearance to Pocono Raceway.
