Welcome to round six of the 1997 KOOL/TOYOTA Atlantic Championship, presented by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, and sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing. . 30 minute provisional and final qualifying will be held today at 12:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., respectively. . Car No. 40 will be driven by Dave Hall, of Elmsford, N.Y., for today's provisional qualifying. Jimmy Pugliese, of Oceanside, N.Y., drove the car in yesterday's practice session for "shake down" purposes, but it is undecided which driver will race on Sunday. . Sunday's race length has been changed from 25 laps to 30 laps. According to CART officials, the Omega Timing system has recalculated the official track length from 2.369 miles to 2.106 miles. The recalculated race length is 63.18 miles.

#66 ALEX TAGLIANI, of Lachenaie, Que., is fastest in the Players Forsythe Racing Team Ralt RT-40 with a TRACK RECORD time of 1:09.197 = 109.56 mph.
#19 MEMO GIDLEY, of San Rafael, Calif., was second fastest in the Lynx Racing prepared Ralt RT-41 at 1:09.309 = 109.38 mph. Series points leader #32 ALEX BARRON, of Vista, Calif., was third fastest in the Lynx Racing-Victory Circle/Red Line Oil Ralt RT-41 at 1:09.448 = 109.16 mph.
