TAGLIANI POSTS RECORD QUALIFYING TIME AT ROAD AMERICA

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. - Alexandre Tagliani, of Lachenaie, Que., Canada, will start from the pole for Sunday's KOOL/Toyota Atlantic Championship race at Road America. Tagliani, who led wire to wire at the previous race, posted a record time of 2:03.553 around the 4.048-mile road circuit on his last qualifying lap. Andrew Bordin, of Woodbridge, Ont., will start alongside Tagliani on the front row after recording a time of 2:03.970. Buddy Rice, of Phoenix, Ariz., will start third while points leader Anthony Lazzaro, of Acworth, Ga., will start fourth. Tagliani's point for the pole moved him into a second-place tie with Rice in the championship standings at 58 points. Sunday's race, round six of the KOOL/Toyota Atlantic Championship, is scheduled for a 10:30 a.m. start.
