MCNALLY CLIMBS THE MOUNTAIN
Mark McNally is looking forward to his first ever event at Mt Panorama Bathurst with both excitement and caution this weekend as he competes in the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series.
"It is just great to be competing here," Mark said.
"This is the track that all the legends of Australian motorsport have made their mark and after viewing the circuit I can see why."
The Bathurst circuit is 6.2km of concrete-line mountain road, with the most daunting section being Skyline where the drivers come over the top at over 200km/k with nothing but sky in their view.
"It is so fast over the top and that is why it is important for me to build up to speed over the weekend.
"There is a big price to pay for overstepping the mark at this circuit," Mark said.
"I should be right by the business end of the meeting."
Mark comes to Bathurst with added confidence after a solid weekend at Adelaide 's Mallala Raceway two weeks ago where he finished ninth in the final and tenth outright.
"It is good that the results are improving as I get more comfortable in the car each time I race," he said.
"I cannot underestimate the task ahead of me this weekend but I will be giving it my best shot.
