An environmental company helped to make the Dakar greener
It is already unusual that the spot of the Dakar is Dabas this year, or rather many Hungarian routes. Another speciality of the competition setting out with a great staff and world star drivers is its greenness.
Most of the wastes that are generated inevitably during a car or motor race is hazardous waste: refuse oil, used oil and petrol filters, wiping cloths and protective clothing contaminated with oil, etc. During this race called Central Europe Rally a Hungarian professional company from Miskolc, the LTV Trans Environmental Services ensured the selective collection and organized disposal of the listed wastes. To achieve this the cooperation of the organizers, competitors and environmental professionals is needed, this was helped by multilingual information sheets, throwaways and green tents set up next to the spots of the rally and located on the information sheets with GPS coordinates as well.
The collected wastes were transported in containers corresponding to ADR (international standard for carriage of dangerous goods by road), during their disposal the prescripitions of ISO 9001 quality management and ISO 14 001 environmental management standards were kept.
