F1GrandPrix.it Exclusive Interview with Adrian Campos

There has been much talk about your negotiations to buy Super Aguri.

"We talked, but in my opinion this fact should have never leaked to the press. I can't deny we talked, but right now we are focussed on winning in GP2. We think one day we will be able to consider all our odds, as we considered this one, but at the moment we decided to go on our way."

So, at the moment there has been just a talk?

"Even something more. But at the moment we are focussed on GP2."

You were the first Fernando Alonso's manager. How do you see his present situation in McLaren, his battle against Hamilton and this season finale?

"I see it from a distance. I have been with Fernando for six years, I love him, he's one of the persons I adore, sincerely. I'm sorry because what is happening to him should never happen to a driver like him, who fought hard to be number one. It's difficult for me and for him to understand why he isn't considered like that in his team. I would like this to be sorted out as soon as possibile so that he could do what he can do best, that is driving."

Do you think he should leave McLaren?

"Right now he can't do anything else. In my opinion the situation inside the team has become too difficult for him. Anyway, he has a contract and in the end he will decide according to the opportunities he will have. I hope he can do what he likes and that things will go well for him."
