Mika Salo:
"I made a very good start, and managed to avoid all the carnage in the
first corner. I couldn't believe I was third on the first lap!
Later on I saw Barrichello's nose and decided to let him go, but the car
was fine at that stage. Later I began to get massive oversteer in the
high-speed corners, and the rear brakes were locking in the slow stuff, so
I was having to work very hard. But it's good to score my fourth point of
the season."
Pedro Diniz:
"That start was really something! I had to brake very hard when an
Arrows in front of me suddenly pulled over and I found a slower car
right ahead. I lost the back end of the car and slid across the road
into Fisichella. I was lucky to get away without damaging the car more than
I did, but the bodywork on the right-hand side suffered and so did the
floor. The car still felt quite good despite that and the lap times were
competitive, but the stop-and-go penalty cost me any chance of pushing
towards the top six."
Peter Sauber:
"I'm very happy with another point, especially in light of Mika's
oversteer problem. We were able to confirm that the C19 has
taken a step forward in race trim as well as in qualifying. This point
today is very important for us because it takes us back ahead of Jaguar.
Given that Pedro's car was damaged on the first lap, his times were
encouraging."
