Today saw the third and final day of testing for the Lucky Strike B.A.R Honda team here in Mugello. Once again, both Anthony Davidson and Darren Manning took to the track to complete the programme.

Anthony has tested at this track previously in a one-day initiation to the team, but this was his first venture into the full test programme. Summing up the last three days he said:

"My first test was in Mugello so to be back here again with the team has been great. Testing for three days for the first time has been a steep learning curve; it's been tough both physically and mentally, but I feel that I've managed to adapt quite quickly. Also, Darren's been giving me some good advice so all in all I feel like I've learned a lot."

Aside from sharing his own experiences as a test driver for Lucky Strike B.A.R Honda, Darren has completed a comprehensive test schedule with the team. Like Anthony, he is pleased with the progress he has made this week:

"It's been good to be testing here for the full three days. It's given me the chance to really get my teeth into the testing programme and I feel like I've done some very productive work. July was my last test for the team, so it's nice to be back - especially here in Mugello, which is a good technical circuit to drive."

Friday saw Darren post the second fastest lap time of the day with a 01.26.174. Anthony's quickest lap was a 01.26.563, the overall fastest being from Justin Wilson for Jordan, with a 01.25.397.

A busy season now almost over, Lucky Strike B.A.R Honda will complete one final day's testing at Santa Pod next week, before heading back to Brackley to continue with their preparations for next season. Of this last full test, Test Team Manager Andrew Alsworth said:

"The team have worked exceptionally hard this week, as they have done all year. We're looking forward to a well-earned break prior to gearing up to January and the 2002 season."
