Barrichello missing a win

Rubens Barrichello met the press at the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro motorhome this afternoon and the man lying second in this year's championship was asked what he still wanted from the season. "The one thing is that I am missing a win," began the Brazilian.

"To be honest, second place is only pleasing because it is better than being third. But there are four races to go, so let us see what happens. If I was to put my driving in golfing terms, I would say I am hitting the ball very well now and I just have to do a good job."

Barrichello did not seem too bothered about the fight for second place in the Drivers' title race. "As far as all of us in the team are concerned, winning the Constructors' Championship is more important than second place in the Drivers'. And for me, winning a race would be more important than my final position."

As with team-mate Schumacher, the subject of tyre failures was also on the agenda. "Yes, there have been problems recently, but the various causes are not clear," he said. "What I can say is that we are confident in our tyres for this weekend and we must look forward."

"The work we have done this year with Bridgestone has been brilliant. Formula 1 is a fast sport and of course it can be frightening to have an incident at 360 km/h, but this is part of racing, even if there have been a few more than usual this season. But I do not think speed is a factor."

As a Ferrari driver, Barrichello can only look forward to racing at Monza: "I really love racing here," he commented. "I am very confident about this weekend even though it is always a very close competition here."
