Barrichello still concerned about team orders

Both Brawn drivers clarified before Sunday's Turkish Grand Prix that team orders would not be in place, Rubens Barrichello has revealed.

The veteran Brazilian, frustrated that teammate Jenson Button's smooth run of form has not translated to the sister car, wondered aloud after the Spanish Grand Prix whether he was receiving equal treatment in 2009.

Clear-the-air talks were subsequently held, but 37-year-old Barrichello, who has not won a single race this year compared with Button's six, is clearly still anxious to ensure that boss Brawn does not oversee another era of driver disparity.

For six years, Brawn was the chief strategist at Ferrari, where the eventually disillusioned Barrichello was Michael Schumacher's clear 'number two'.

Insisting he is not prepared to play second fiddle any more, Barrichello told reporters that at Istanbul he and Button paid a visit to Brawn's office prior to the race.

"Both of us went into Ross's office and just put the case to him and said that both drivers wanted to be free to race.

"It was very good from Jenson, from me, from Ross. It was different in my Ferrari times," he said.

Even if Barrichello wins the next two races on the trot, including at his favourite circuit at Silverstone in two weeks, Button could sit out the events and still be leading the championship by 6 points.

But Barrichello is not yet downbeat.

"Right now I am pissed off with the situation but tomorrow is another day. I cannot see him (Button) running away. All our three years together we were so fair and square, so I don't see him better now and winning every race this season.

"At some point there will be a drop and I want to be there to conquer," he said.
