Benetton-Renault press releases

Renault: "Mr. Patrick Faure, Executive Vice President of Renault and President of Renault Sport, and Mr. Flavio Briatore, Managing Director of Benetton Formula Ltd, announced in Paris today the signing of a three-year partnership agreement starting in 1995, for Renault Sport to supply Formula 1 engines to the Benetton team.

This contract coming hard on the heels of the one signed on 11 August with Williams is further proof of Renault's resolve to maintain a long-term presence in Formula 1, and to give the company every opportunity of winning more world titles."

Benetton: "Following Renault Sport's announcement today, of the signing of a three year contract with Benetton Formula for 1995, 1996 and 1997, Mr. Flavio Briatore, Managing Director of Benetton Formula would like to take this opportunity to extend his sincerest thanks to Ford Motor Company for the eight year succesful partnership and says, 'We have enjoyed an invaluable and dynamic relationship with Ford, both parties have always worked extremely well together, resulting in a productive combination. Our priority for the remaining part of the 1994 season is to work together with one common goal of winning the 1994 Constructors' and Drivers' Championships.'

Benetton Formula are also delighted to be entering a new parternship with Renault for the next three years. Renault Sport have shown immense ability and Benetton Formula believes that the combination of Benetton and Renault, will further enhance the performance of both parties.

Flavio Briatore comments, 'We are very excited with our new partnership with Renault and are confident that this alliance will provide a strong challenge for the future. We look forward to a fruitful and succesful long term partnership.'
