This was Scuderia Ferrari-Marlboro's final day of testing at the Monza circuit. Today, Eddie Irvine continued working on the suspensions and on the set-up of his F 300. He completed a total of 61 laps, with a best time of 1m 26.110s. Michael Schumacher also worked on the set-up and he tried different types of Goodyear tyres. The German driver, who worked only in the afternoon, did a total of 45 laps (best time 1m 25.422s).
The track was damp throughout the morning because of overnight rain. Only in the afternoon it was completely dry. The President of Ferrari, Luca di Montezemolo, came today in Monza where he met the drivers and the team members. The team will be back at work next Saturday at the Fiorano circuit. Eddie Irvine will carry on a tyre programme and the shake-down of two out of the three cars which the team will use in the Belgian Grand Prix.
