Valencia, 19th January
Circuit: Valencia, 4.005 km
Drivers: Michael Schumacher, F2001 chassis no. 210; Rubens Barrichello, F2001 chassis no. 209
Weather: air temperature 5/18 C, track temperature 4/17 C, sunny.

First day of testing this year for the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro at the Valencia circuit, in Spain. Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello were in action today, both driving an F2001. On today's programme was set-up work and tyre testing.

"I am happy to be testing again after my first run in the car last Monday in Fiorano" - said Michael Schumacher - "It is the first time I have tested here: it is an interesting circuit, with some similarities to Magny-Cours."

Testing ran from 09h00 to 17h00. During the morning, Rubens Barrichello had an off-track excursion: the driver was uninjured. However, the car was sent back to Maranello to be repaired.

Michael Schumacher continues testing at the Valencia circuit tomorrow.
