French GP Friday Prost notes

Nick Heidfeld: "I am happy enough with this first day of practice which was run without any particular difficulty. We have been able to complete all of the programme for today and to test a good number of mechanical and aerodynamic set-ups.

Nick Heidfeld:
"I am happy enough with this first day of practice which was run without any particular difficulty. We have been able to complete all of the programme for today and to test a good number of mechanical and aerodynamic set-ups. Considering that I used no more than one set of tyres, my times are encouraging for the rest of the weekend and I feel pretty confident."

Jean Alesi:
"This was an interesting day from the point of view of the number of different things which we were able to try. However, it seems to me that the tyres are behaving very differently here as compared to last week for the test. So we have had to make a lot of set-up changes. I am sure that in the end we will find a good compromise. Anyway, we have to have a car that is easy to drive in qualifying as the times will be very close and half a tenth can change everything. So we are going to do everything we can to fine-tune the car for tomorrow."

Alain Prost:
"It has been a good start to the weekend, without any reliability problems. We can, I think, look for a good result in both Saturday's qualifying and the race on Sunday even if the race is run in difficult weather conditions. So motivation and concentration will be the two most important factors in trying to achieve this."
