Glock has not decided his future beyond 2011

Timo Glock is confident Marussia Virgin Racing will prove to be a competitive package in 2011 but he is in no rush to decide his long term future at the team. The 29 year-old German endured a frustrating first season with the privateer team in 2010 but is adamant there is no set deadline by which he will decide whether to commit beyond the end of this year.

I don't have a set race or date in my mind as to when I will decide if I am going to stay or go," Glock exclusively revealed to Motorsport.com at the launch of the new MVR-02 in London yesterday. "The relationships between myself and the senior management at the team is very good and we all knew this was a long term project. No Date Set For Glock Decision on Marussia Virgin Racing Future

"The relationships between myself and the senior management at the team is very good and we all knew this was a long term project. There is no point in making predictions at this time of the year or setting deadlines like a certain race later in the season when we will decide what to do."

Despite confident predictions from the team that the new car will ultimately prove to be closer to their more established rivals this time round, Glock is quick to refute claims he has already decided to leave the team.

"We have to see what we achieved, what our feelings are on the situation and then go from there," he told Motorsport.com. "It doesn't make any sense on deciding what I will do after this season when it hasn't even started yet. When this second of the two year deal I signed is nearly over, we have to all make a decision about whether to continue or not but until then, I'm just focused on what my job is and I just get on with it as best I can."
