Takuma Sato today completed a third day of testing at Silverstone, in showers and blustery conditions, on the penultimate day of Jordan Honda’s final test session before the Australian Grand Prix.

Sato finished a combined total of 34 laps in the EJ11 and EJ12. He worked on general set up in both wet and dry conditions and set his fastest lap time of 1:26.09, which placed him second on the time sheets, in the EJ12. The 2002 car had a scheduled gearbox change in the afternoon however subsequently Sato completed a single lap before worsening weather shortened the day’s testing.

Takuma Sato:“ I am positive about what we have done this week as we have improved a lot, and completed a full race distance without a problem. We have found some speed and have been more competitive this week. I am really looking forward to Melbourne.”

Sato will run some software tests in the EJ11 at Silverstone tomorrow, the final day of pre-season testing for Jordan.
