Mixed feelings for Barrichello

Rubens Barrichello is starting to get just a little impatient for that first win of the season and will be working towards it this weekend in Canada. The Brazilian has played second fiddle to his Ferrari teammate this season, as Michael Schumacher romps home to victory after victory. The rest of the teams struggle to catch Schumacher's performance and even in the same machinery Barrichello can't beat the German.

Rubens is hoping that will change soon. "I think that in terms of points it has gone well," he said in regard to his season, at a Bridgestone press conference in Montreal today. "Michael has already won six races and I feel I could have won one. I would not say I find this disappointing, but obviously, despite several second places, I have mixed feelings."

"So far, we have done a fantastic job with the car, the engine and the tyres, so that means it is now up to me to do a bit more. Even though I had not done much testing with the new car before the season, I was able to put Michael under pressure at the first race. But I need to find something more in terms of some elements such as strategy and that work will be ongoing this weekend in Canada."

The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is a notorious car breaker and, along with a good set of brakes, reliability is paramount. Ferrari should have no worries in that department and Barrichello thinks tyres will be a major factor.

"On this track, tyre choice is very important, especially as the fast sections mean we run with low aerodynamic downforce," he explained. "Therefore Friday practice will be very important in order to help us make the right choice for the rest of the weekend."
