Jean Alesi:
After an extremely good week-end, full of expectation, today's result is a big disappointment. The car felt just fantastic from the beginning and, after the various starts, I was driving in perfect control of the cars behind me. I was keeping a good pace waiting for the right moment to start attacking, when suddenly, my transmission broke and I had to retire. I believe that the three starts we had in this race may have something to do with this failure. This Grand Prix remains the best we have had so far this season and I am confident that the good results that everyone in the team and our supporters deserve, are not very far away."

Nick Heidfeld:
"After practices and qualifying, that went very badly, I am very happy to finish the race. Because of the early accident in the Loews corner, I had to start from the pits, with the T-car, which was set up for Jean. So, I started from last position. I had my T-car seat, but the wrong pedals and Jean's set-up. During the race, I got used to the car quite quickly. Unfortunately, it is so difficult to overtake on this circuit that I was held up several times. I did not have serious problems with the car and it was a good race considering I did not make any mistakes. I am very happy for the team even though it is a pity we did not get the two cars to the finish. Unfortunately, Jean had a problem, and I did not start from my original position, which prevented us from scoring points here. However we can really be happy to finish in a good eighth position."

Alain Prost:
"After all we have done this weekend, we would have merited a finish in the points. The ease with which Jean began the race and picked up the pace of the top six leaves us regretting that we did not have the reliability to finish due to a problem, which forced him to retire, which we had not experienced before arriving here. Jean has been competitive throughout the weekend and Nick, despite a difficult weekend and a chaotic start to the race has been able to deliver an encouraging eighth place. This helps us all to remain optimistic and positive and this weekend, for the whole team, is a new start."

Corrado Provera (Peugeot):
"After the good performances during free practice and qualifying, we were expecting Jean to drive a race worthy of his 'panache' and experience of the Monaco circuit. It was going that way until a transmission problem stopped him. It was a real pity because he could have finished on the podium today. Nick Heidfeld, despite losing a lot of track time all weekend, did a good job. He drove a trouble-free race to end up in 8th position."
