Montoya not feeling extra pressure

With the US Grand Prix only days away, the tension is mounting as everyone wonders what the results will mean for the championship. Michael Schumacher can win his sixth title at Indianapolis, given the right outcome, but challengers Juan Pablo Montoya and Kimi Raikkonen will be doing everything to stop that happening. Montoya is the main contender but Raikkonen could still throw a spanner in the works.

"If Kimi wins on Sunday then everything will be changed around again," said Montoya. "We are all fighting for the championship and nobody wants to give anything away at the moment."

The Colombian knows all to well what is at stake and said he's not going to take any rash chances: "I am not feeling any extra pressure. I am not going to say I am going into Sunday's race aiming to kill Michael. I will just be pushing as hard as I can. If I push and win that's great, but if I finish second then so be it."

"If Rubens Barrichello is leading, I am second and Michael third, then I won't be going for it. But if Michael is first and I am second and I can go for it, then I will. It all depends on whom I am up against."

Of course, not only is the Driver's title up for grabs, the Constructors' is still open as well. Williams leads Ferrari by four points and McLaren can't win it now, so it's a straight fight between the leading pair. BMW motorsport director Mario Theissen knows the result Williams wants: "We have to cross the line ahead of Michael Schumacher," he stated. "And that's what we want to achieve at Indianapolis."

If Michael wins at Indy, Montoya has to finish higher than sixth to stay in with a chance but most people think the championship fight won't be over this weekend. "I expect that both titles, the Constructors' and the Drivers' Championship, won't be decided until Suzuka," said Theissen.
