Although the British Grand Prix did not end in ideal fashion for Eddie Irvine, the Ulsterman never seems to have a dull weekend.

From Saturday's free practice session, when Eddie narrowly avoided a stray hare on the circuit, to fulfilling sponsors duties -- the Jaguar Racing driver always seems to be in the limelight.

"Silverstone is always a tiring event with all the extra promo work and what have you, so I was glad to get home on Saturday night," Irvine told his official online fanclub. "A few of my mates were with me and we cooked up a storming Shepherd's Pie. Then I sloped off to bed, watched the Discovery Channel on the box and fell asleep."

"Did you see that hare dash across the track in front of me? I thought it was trying to commit Hare Kari! I had a major swerve to avoid it, but I saw Allan McNish clobbered one a bit later. Was it the same hare? Listen, I'm a racing driver, not Sir David Attenborough, so how would I know?"

Next on Eddie's agenda is a three-day test session at the famous Monza circuit in Italy. But before continuing work on the revised aerodynamic package, Eddie is spending time on his boat The Annaconda with his daughter Zoe.

"I'm going down to the Med to spend some time on my boat with my daughter Zoe. She's been in England for a while now, but I didn't think it was fair on her to bring her to the race, as she'd have been bored. At the end of the week, I'm heading off to Monza for another test session with the revised car. I'm not expecting miracles, but if we can just carry on learning some lessons from it, that will stand us in good stead for the future."
