Jaguar Racing's Mark Webber and Christian Klien completed their Saturday practice sessions for the European Grand Prix without incident in their Jagur R5s, completing their preparations as they head into qualifying.
Webber was 14th quickest in the first session and 12th in the second, completing a total of 23 laps. "I think we're not in bad shape," he said afterwards. "I think we've made the right tyre and strategy choice and I'm quite pleased with the way the weather has developed - a nice warm track. The car feels good, we've had a good, logical programme and I'm optimistic for the race."
Webber was however given a 1s penalty which will be added to his qualifying time for setting his best practice time on Friday during a yellow flag period. "I accept the decision of the stewards," he said, "though I maintain that I did slow and my sector time was better than previously regardless because the car was in much better shape than it had been earlier. It's a long sector so the effect of slowing for one flag doesn't show up so much."
Klien was 19th quickest in the first session and 14th in the second. He said: "We've made progress since yesterday, I'm happy with the tyre choice and things are going well."
