Toro Rosso finally confirmed on February 24th that Scott Speed will race for the Faenza squad again this season. Teammate Tonio Liuzzi was announced earlier this month but Toro Rosso cited 'contractual issues' in regard to Speed and the American was left waiting.
However, Toro Rosso confirmed the American with a brief sentence in its final testing report of the week. Team co-owner Gerhard Berger had reportedly raised doubts about Speed's commitment but it seems whatever the concerns were, they are now put to rest. Speed was back behind the wheel on the last day of testing at Bahrain.
Prior to that, the Californian was in Bulgaria filming a pre-season promotional movie with Liuzzi. Sister team Red Bull had David Coulthard and Mark Webber similarly behind the lens in the Czech Republic for the so-called "Mood Film", which will see the four drivers pitted against each other.
