Jordan Honda commenced the first day of its second three-day test session of 2002, running last season’s EJ11s again, this time at Valencia, after a successful test at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya last week.

Overnight moisture made the track damp in the morning and the team used intermediate tyres for the first few hours of running, however dry weather for the remainder of the day allowed Giancarlo Fisichella and Takuma Sato to complete 82 and 84 laps respectively. Fisichella worked on launch control development and general chassis set-up, achieving the fifth fastest time of the day with 1:14.58, while Sato familiarised himself with the Valencia circuit and continued with general chassis set-up work. His 1:15.81 lap time placed him seventh in the time sheet.

The team hopes to continue this productive start to the test, and both Jordan Honda drivers will drive for the next two days.
