Villeneuve still having fun

Jacques Villeneuve has not had the best of time with BAR in recent years but with this season's BAR005, the Canadian is having fun. BAR has been less than competitive since its debut in 1999 and the points scored have been less than hoped for.

BAR has been less than competitive since its debut in 1999 and the points scored have been less than hoped for. However, this season's car seems to be more on the pace; Villeneuve is not regretting staying with the team and isn't planning on a return to American racing.

"Today's F1 is fun for me," he said. "Today, my car is competitive, it is like it should have been right from the first year. It is really easy to drive and Honda is putting all its energy on us. They are doing a great job but unfortunately they are not doing the chassis or the gear box."

"I don't have the intention of going back to USA and I don't have any regrets about the choices I have made in the past. It would be too easy to say that if I did not do this or that, I could have done something else better... don't worry about me. I don't ask myself any questions like that and I sleep very well at night."

As ever, the former champion is not about to make nice about his team mate Jenson Button, although the heated relationship between them seems to have calmed lately. "Talking about Button, I only said that he has been in F1 for four years and that he never won anything," said Villeneuve. "From what we have seen so far of him, we cannot say that he will be world champion one day."

McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen, the Canadian thinks, is probably a better bet: "Raikkonen, on the other hand, may well become world champion because he has a very good car and good self-control."
