Webber chasing every point

Mark Webber is determined to try and score as many points as possible for Jaguar in the last six races of the season, even though he's moving on next year. Webber was recently confirmed by Williams for 2005 and beyond, but for the immediate future the Australian is focusing on his current team. After points finishes in Britain and Germany, he believes Jaguar is getting better.

"The last three races have been very rewarding for our team, with reliability greatly improved and the pace of the R5 certainly embarrassing some of our so-called bigger and better financed rivals," said Webber. "We'll certainly be pushing as hard as ever and chasing every single point we can right until the last race in Brazil in October."

Webber debuted in F1 with Minardi in 2002 and moved to Jaguar the following year. After two years with the Leaping Cat, his move to Williams in 2005 is the next step up in his career. But he won't walk away from Jaguar without a little regret.

"I've never enjoyed leaving the teams I've driven for in the past, as it's important to forge strong relationships with the people you work with, and in doing so you become a part of that family," he said.

"I'm still very close to all the people at Minardi, and I will remain the same with those at Jaguar Racing who have put me in a tremendous position from which to progress my career with Williams."

Jaguar's driver line up for 2005 is unknown, as is Webber's future teammate at Williams. So many drivers have been linked with the Williams seat that it's hard to keep track of them all. David Coulthard has been mentioned often in relation to Jaguar but we will just have to wait and see.
