WilliamsF1 today announced that PPG Industries, the global supplier of coatings, glass, fiber glass and paint, has extended its European contract with the team until 2008.

The partnership with WilliamsF1 was originally established two years ago when PPG entered Formula One in 2003 as the official supplier of the team's automotive paint re-finishes. The PPG identity has appeared on the team's trucks and garage wallboards and will remain as such with the announcement of the extension.

Founded in 1883, PPG Industries is a global manufacturer of coatings, glass products, and industrial chemicals. PPG technology and know-how is used on two out of every three cars made in Europe and North America. PPG Automotive Refinish produces a full range of products for use in both car, and commercial transport vehicles, new build and refurbishment markets, and offers the re-finish customer a comprehensive range of easy to use, versatile products and business tools that enhance body shop growth and profitability through its three world-class brands, Nexa Autocolor, PPG and MaxMeyer.

With its headquarters in Pittsburgh, PPG has 108 manufacturing facilities and equity affiliates across Europe, the Americas and the Far East. Employing more than 33,000 people, PPG is renowned for its commitment to technological leadership and ensuring cost-effective and efficient production in all its major markets. Having pioneered numerous product and process innovations within the industry, PPG has remained committed to its company blueprint of "Getting things right the first time, every time."

PPG's European Brand Proposition Manager, Emma Golding, "We're delighted our premium products will continue to be used on the new generation of WilliamsF1 cars, the team's transporters and on support vehicles throughout the 2006 race season and beyond. PPG is looking forward to the continuation of our successful partnership long into the future. This is an exciting time for WilliamsF1, with many new technical developments, which are fully complimented by the modern, impactful livery. We feel sure we will see WilliamsF1 in its rightful position back on the podium this season."

WilliamsF1's Team Principal, Frank Williams, confirmed, "PPG have made an important contribution to the team over the past two years and I'm thrilled that they have decided to continue their relationship with us into the future."
