Kumho Tyres Australian Formula 3 Championship elects new management for 2007 season
A brand-new management committee has been elected to oversee the management and future direction of the Kumho Tyres Australian Formula 3 Championship for the next 12 months.
To work with the existing category administrator Graemme Brown, the new team is comprised of a number of new and existing members but gives the series a fresh approach to growing Australia's premier Open Wheel category.
James Rosenberg has been elected chairman, Mark Rundle secretary and Leanne Tander treasurer.
Sam Astuti and technical advisor Ian Richards will also serve as vote-carrying board members.
"I'd like to welcome the new board and acknowledge the mix of youth and experience that we have heading into the 2007 championship season," said Rosenberg.
"I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of our existing board members for their support and hard work towards the category over the last 12 months.
"Jeff Mattner, the outgoing chairman, has put in a tireless effort for this category in the past and we certainly thank him for his commitment and dedication to Formula 3 Australia. Jeff's valuable contacts and knowledge throughout the Formula 3 world show his passion and commitment towards Formula 3 Racing in Australia and we are pleased to know that he will still be around the series next year.
"The board would also like to acknowledge the efforts made by the outgoing secretary, Bill Maddocks, for his incredible commitment to the series since it's inception in Australia.
"I am very confident in the future direction of the championship," Rosenberg added.
"I believe that the level of excitement and interest that is already surrounding the series for our 2007 championship is significantly higher than at the same stage last season.
"As the chairman, I am looking forward to working on continuing the rapid growth and development of the Kumho Tyres Australian Formula 3 Championship." he said.
