The 2nd race of the weekend under the new rules makes the top 8 finishers from the Saturday day race start in reverse order thus 1st place starts 8th on the grid and so Jonathan's 4th place on Saturday gave him a P5 start.
At the start Jonathan bolted for turn 1 dicing with 3 or 4 cars on the inside and rather than crash came out in 8th however due to one car jumping the start Jonathan moved up to p7 for the rest of the race he battled trying to catch Sebastian Vettel who by the half way mark he was pushing for 6th place.
In the latter stages Jonathan was pushing Sebastian however unable to overtake the much more experienced driver At the finish Jonathan was less than a second behind Sebastian and over 9 seconds in front of the 8th place car. After the race Jonathan said" This is really exciting and clean competitive racing.
Ater this weekend it is nice to know that I can run with the front guys and it is fun plus I am learning a lot about the car and racing in this very competitive series. The next race is Oschersleaben 20th May weekend
