1995 Duryea Hillclimb

Dates : August 26 & 27

Location : City Park and Duryea Drive, Reading, PA

Timed Runs : 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Hosted by Blue Mountain Region SCCA Reading, Pennsylvania

Organizing Bodies : Blue Mountain Region of the Sports Car Club of America, the largest amateur motorsports club in the Nation, and the Reading Jaycees, a nationwide leadership training organization.

Event Description : The Duryea Hillclimb is run under SCCA Solo I rules. Each driver will be given a minimum of three timed runs up the hill. Runs are electronically timed to 0.001 second. The best time for each driver is used for scoring. Since cars are competing against the clock, they are spaced out and will never see each other. As many as four cars may be on the hill at a time.

Special Attraction : This years event will feature an original 1903 Charles Duryea automobile. This vehicle and many more from this era can be seen on display at the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles and at Duryea Days on September 2 & 3, in Boyertown Park, Boyertown, PA.

Spectators : The event is free to the public. Bleachers are provided throughout the course.

Concessions : Concession stands are located at several points near the pit area and start line. Food, drinks, programs and souvenir T-Shirts are available. The stands are operated by the Reading Jaycees and the Vietnam Veterans Association.
