Post-Race Comments:

The #10 PTG BMW M3 has won GT-3 in the 36th Rolex 24 at Daytona, as Bill Auberlen brings the car under the checkered flag! It is PTG's second-consecutive win, and the victorious car was 22 laps ahead of its nearest challenger at the finish.

Bill Auberlen: "It really was very easy most of the time. The highlight for me was sleeping in the motor home while these guys did all the work."

Peter Cunningham: "It's not the slow GT-3 cars that are the problem; it's the slow GT-2 and GT-1 cars, because they're just fast enough to stay ahead of you on the straights (and then hold you up in the corners).

Boris Said: On the traffic: "The traffic isn't any different from L.A." On the win: "Unfortunately, we had an accident early in the race, but we ran the car really hard last night. Today, we were able to build up a big lead and baby the car."

Marc Duez: "This is the second time that I have been to Daytona, and to win is fantastic. For BMW I won the Spa 24 Hours (1997), I won the Nurburgring 24 Hours (1996) and now I've won the Daytona 24 Hours. So this is great for me."

Tom Milner; team owner: "I'm happy and I'm tired, but it's wonderful. There are not that many people who have won this race twice -- people like Jack Roush -- and I'm proud to be among them. To finish sixth overall in a car that has so much less power than the Can-Ams, you have to drive very fast and carefully. The drivers did a great job of conserving the car, then going fast enough to catch up when we had the one problem and fell behind."

The #10 car covered the record distance of 2338.92 miles, which would be an extra three laps over the former mark. The previous record was 2328.92 miles.

The #7 car finished 16th overall, seventh in class.

The #6 car, which was eliminated from the race very early by a headgasket failure, was credited with 87 laps.
