Andersen Racing Shakes Down Its New Indy Pro Series Car
FAIRFIELD, N.J., Nov. 21 - Andersen Racing, one of the few teams expected to have a new chassis for the 2007 Indy Racing League Indy Pro Series, shook its new car down last week at Roebling Road Raceway in Bloomingdale, Ga.
Current Star Mazda drivers Brad Jaeger and Ryan Justice were the lucky drivers.
"Although it was just a shake-down and not a serious test, it accomplished what we wanted it to, and the boys did set some pretty impressive lap times on the newly repaved circuit," said team owner Dan Andersen.
"John Andersen, recently departed from his duties as competition director for the Cooper Zetec series, was on hand in his new role as managing director of our Indy Pro Series operation," Andersen added.
The team is considering running more than one car in the Indy Pro Series next year, and is currently interviewing drivers.
Andersen Racing offers a unique, three-tiered approach to groom drivers for careers as IndyCar or Champ Car World Series drivers. In 2007 the team plans to compete in the Hankook Tires FF2000 series, the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear, and the Indy Pro Series.
