PPG-Dayton Indy Lights Championship
Team KOOL Green's Jonny Kane held the quickest time for a good part of the final qualifying session before finishing seventh. His quick lap of 1:08.455 (95.923 mph) places Kane in the fourth row for the start of tomorrow's race at 10:20 a.m. PDT.
Felipe Giaffone won the pole, clocking a lap of 1:07.668 seconds at an average of 97.038 mph. Guy Smith will line-up next Giaffone after posting the second best qualifying lap with 1:08.003 (96.560 mph). Didier Andre bumped out Philipp Peter for third spot with a time of 1:08.025 (96.529 mph).
JONNY KANE, #27 Team KOOL Green Lola T97/20: (7th with a lap-time of 1:08.455 at 95.923 mph)
"I really should have gone quicker on my new set of tires. I did a decent lap on my first lap with the new tires and then caught up to some traffic. After that, I think I tried a bit too hard trying to find a gap. We're better off than we were this morning and I know Team KOOL Green has a quick car for the race. If we can get past some people in the race, we'll have a good result. I'm not worried about the start too much. I've been into first corners before. Hopefully, I can slip by if anyone else gets tangled up around the fountain."
