BUSCH: Roush teams will still compete

All of Jack Roush Racing teams will be participating in this weekend's races at Talladega, as scheduled. The announcement came this morning following Jack Roush's private plane crashed last night into a lake near Troy, Alabama. Roush is in critical but stable condition.

"We are gonna take care of business because he has got eyes in the back of his head," driver Mark Martin said after all four of Roush's Winston Cup cars participated in the morning practice session.

"He had great color but looked pretty beatup," Martin said. "I know everybody wants answers right now and I understand that. But you just have to wait."

Martin and fellow Roush Racing drivers Jeff Burton and Kurt Busch were at the hospital Friday night.

Roush Racing president Geoff Smith said Roush is aware of his surroundings, although he is unable to respond. "The doctors and several visitors have confirmed acknowledgements he makes -- hand squeezes andsuch (but) he is on a respirator so he cannot speak."

NASCAR CEO William France Jr. issued this statment; "Our thoughts are with Jack Roush, his family and the Roush organization during this difficult time. Jack Roush is an innovator and leader in the NASCAR industry. His tireless efforts have helped this sport achieve the success it enjoys today. All memebers of the NASCAR family are praying for his recovery."
