Coke Zero 400 qualifying rained out

NASCAR cancelled qualifying for the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway due to inclement weather. 

The starting order from the race will be set due to the speeds of first practice with Dale Earnhardt Jr. leading the field to the green on Sunday night. Earnhardt was encouraged because along with P1 comes the first pit selection as well.

"I think the pit selection here is very important, so it will be great to have the first stall cause if we have a shot to win this race, we're going to need to be up on the front row for those last couple of restarts," Earnhardt said. "Obviously, I think leading the race at the end is the best place to be. That pit selection will give us the opportunity to be more competitive."

Austin DIllon, Clint Bowyer, Paul Menard, Trevor Bayne and David Gilliland will comprise the first three rows. 

Row 4 through 6 will include A.J. Allmendinger, David Ragan, Jamie McMurray, Kasey Kahne, Sam Hornish Jr. and Jimmie Johnson.

Jeff Gordon will start 24th for his final Sprint Cup race on the 2.5-mile track. 

"This track has been very special to me, we know how important is to the sport," Gordon said. "I'm kind of bummed out that it was rained out."
