CLINT BOWYER, NO. 33 CHEERIOS/HAMBURGER HELPER CHEVROLET -- QUALIFIED 2ND:
ON HIS QUALIFYING RUN:
"It was a good run. I'm proud of Shane (Wilson, crew chief) all the guys. We went out and practiced and the car was really fast in race trim right off the bat. It kind of caught us off guard. You always come to the track with your best stuff and aim to be the fastest car and we were by quite a bit. So we switched over to qualifying trim thinking it would be our best shot at maybe sitting on a pole (laughs); but we went to qualifying trim and went slower than we did in race trim. So we practiced kind of miserable and bickered back and forth. The boys went back to work and got on that little computer and figured out the differences between a race run and the qualifying run. They made a good decision and got me a good lap. I'm very proud of their efforts. Kyle (Busch) is always fast. I don't know how fast he would have ran. It cooled off quite a bit. I really thought that the No. 42 (Montoya) and some of the others would be even faster behind him, but I think our lap stood out pretty good and I'm pretty excited about it."
