Tony Stewart to Lead Field to Green Flag at Pocono

Six Team Chevy Drivers in Top-10 Starters as Rain Forces Pocono 500 Qualifying Canceled and Field Set by Points

Long Pond, PA - Two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) champion Tony Stewart, No. 14 Office Depot/Old Spice Impala SS, will start on the pole for the Pocono 500 by virtue of leading the owner's points heading in to this weekend's event.

Rain forced cancellation of qualifications for Sunday's race at Pocono Raceway, mandating the 43-car field will be set by provisions outlined in the rule-book.

Team Chevy will have a total of six drivers starting in the top-10. Jeff Gordon, No. 24 DuPont Impala SS, will start second, along side Stewart.

Jimmie Johnson, No. 48 Lowe's Impala SS, will roll of third with Ryan Newman, No. 39 Haas Automation Demo Day/U.S. Army Impala SS, in the fifth starting position.

Jeff Burton, No. 31 Caterpillar Impala SS, will start 10th with Mark Martin, No. 5 Kellogg's/CARQUEST Impala SS in the 12th starting spot.

The 200-lap/500-mile race is scheduled to start Sunday at 2:00 p.m. EDT. TNT, MRN Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio will broadcast all the live action.

"It's good. Obviously this is a place that has a lot of history here. Obviously everybody is disappointed we didn't get on the race track today but it worked out good for myself and Jeff (Gordon). It's nice to be able to get a front-row starting spot because of rain but it's not what the fans came to see. It's not what obviously our TV partners want to see but it's just part of what happens. I had to deal with that on Wednesday with our big race at Eldora. Unfortunately that got washed out too but I'm going to make up for it tonight. I'm going to go back to Eldora and try to qualify for the dream tonight and go back and run tomorrow night."
