Kansas Feels Like Home for Chris Eggleston
Chris Eggleston has spent the last fifteen years racing everything from quarter midgets to super late models in and around his native Colorado home. He has steadily worked his way up to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series by winning at every level along the way. On Sunday, Chris will reach another milestone as he takes the green flag behind the wheel of the H2O Fire Protection No. 21 at the closest NASCAR track to his home.
The O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 will be the third NCWTS start for Eggleston and the youngster who celebrated his twenty-first birthday a few weeks ago is ready to race at the mile and one half Kansas Speedway, "I am so excited about racing at Kansas," the Colorado native said. "Racing out here in Colorado is so much fun, the fans are really connected with their favorite drivers."
I've been running some races back home over the last couple weeks. Well, when the weather cooperates... and everyone is so supportive of running these truck races. I ran out of my NASCAR autograph cards."
"I know there are quite a few who are going to make the trip to Kansas," he added. "I've been getting so many e-mails, texts and calls wishing me good luck it's just unreal. The fan support is unbelievable."
Veteran Butch Miller will be on the box for Eggleston again at Kansas, "We let Chris down at Nashville, but the guys on this team have been working hard to be sure we give him all the opportunities to run up front at Kansas."
"I can't describe how much I enjoy working with Chris and seeing how much talent he has behind the wheel. He has so much poise that rare ability to communicate what he feels in the race car," Miller added. "We're going to do our best to help him shine in front of all his family, friends and fans that will be at the race."
H2O Fire Protection will back Eggleston's No 21 entry at Kansas Speedway. Chris' 2010 schedule could be expanded if additional sponsorship can be secured. "I am really enjoying working with Butch and the SS Green Light team," Eggleston said. "We have several people working on sponsorship deals and I am hopeful we can find the partners to run some additional races later this year."
