BUSCH: DeHart leaves, replacement named

Brian DeHart leaves as Busch Series Director, NASCAR Names Replacement

Midway through his third year of tenor as series director in the NASCAR Busch series, Brian DeHart abruptly resigned his position.

DeHart, who began his career under the tutelage of Gary Nelson worked as a Cup series official before being promoted up to the position of senior inspector, a job he held for ten years before accepting the top spot in the Busch series.. DeHart indicated he would continue to be involved in the sport, however is looking to work more with teams and sponsors.

NACAR named Joe Balash to the position vacated by DeHart. Balash who is the former Vice President of Race operations for the American Speed Association joined NASCAR several Months ago to serve as technical director of NASCAR's touring series. "We are pleased to have Joe on the team", noted NASCAR President Mike Helton.

Balash immediately assumed the role of director and severed for the race at the New Hampshire International Speedway.
