BUSCH: St. Louis: Shane Hmiel qualifying notes

Shane Hmiel Qualifies 18th for the Charter 250 NASCAR Busch Series race at Gateway International Raceway tonight in the #24 Quality Services Plus Chevrolet. This is the highest qualifying position for the GIC Motorsports Team since Mike Harmon qualified 20th at Kentucky Speedway in 2003.

Hmiel is running in his second race for the Quality Services Plus Chevrolet for GIC Motorsports. "I've been working with Gregg Mixon to help the team put together a program while I've been off." The last NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race was at Martinsville Speedway April 17th. "It's great to be back racing with the guys in this series. I've had a lot of fun in Busch. Right now, I'm just happy to be behind the wheel every week," Hmiel stated.

As for his plans for the season, "I'm running for a championship in the Truck Series for Billy Ballew. If I get to run some Busch and it's a conflict, we'll do it like Kasey Kahne and some other guys do it, except I'm running in the Truck Series not Cup."
