EVENT REVIEW: This racetrack provides so much history for drivers on the Gatorade All Pro Series, NASCAR Touring. So many NASCAR stars, past and present, have raced at this track and include Stanley Smith, Darrell Brown and Charlie Bradberry who will be in the field for this event. There will be many new drivers competing in this event who have never raced at this track but the track will prove challenging to all with tires being a determining factor in the outcome of the event. A close Wireway Husky, Corp. Rookie-of-the-Year Program is developing between Richie Beasley, Jody Lavender, Roger Parker, Bradberry, Wayne Bowen, Michael Britt, Jeff Myers and Chris Fontaine. It took Wayne Anderson eight races to get his car in victory lane in 2000 with his win at Montgomery being his first of the year. He lost a lap early in the race when others pitted for tires on lap 74. Then was able to get back on the lead lap after another caution when he lined up on the inside with four new tires. When series points leader Billy Bigley Jr.'s car hit the wall on lap 130 that allowed Anderson to restart fifth on the field. He quickly went to the front, leading the final 57 laps.
