Savage Racing Continues Strong Finishes

Rounds 3 and 4 of the Lucas Oil CORR series were held in at the Langlade County Fairgrounds in Antigo, Wisconsin. This annual event, the Mole Lake Casino Off-Road Championships has been a held the same weekend since the inception of Championship Off-Road Racing. The capacity crowd and unusually good weather made it the perfect backdrop for the weekend of competition.

After finishing 3rd in both Round 1 & 2, Mike Savage and his #267 Savage Construction, Kumho Tires, Ford F-150 planning to stay in the lead pack and come home with two solid finishes.

Round 3

After starting midpack in the 12-truck field, the race went pretty uneventful. The winner of the round, Ben Wandasega came out of the first sweeping turn in the lead and never looked back. After four laps, Mike made it to third place. In the end Wandasega finished first, Oberg second, and the privateer team of Mike Savage third!!!

Round 4

Again Mike takes the great flag midpack and begins the fight to the front. At the halfway point of the race, Mike is up to 5th place; about 8 truck lengths behind 4th place Don Williams. As the laps wind down, Mike really has his Kumho tires working well. On the last lap Mike is right behind Williams. As the two trucks go through the last corner before the finish, Mike makes his move, and powers past Williams, and comes home in 4th place.
